Chieveley Village Hall is a safe, indoor environment and easily accessible from the M4 / Newbury junction. The event is open to dogs over the age of 20 weeks, no previous Rally training is necessary.
Tea and coffee will be available from 9.30am, please bring a packed lunch for yourself and dog!
We have places for 10 handlers and the workshop is open to spectators without dogs, however only dogs involved in the workshop (on leads) can be in the hall during the training sessions.
If you are joining the event as a handler please bring bedding/crate and water bowl for your dog’s comfort. Extra dogs may be crated in the hall, but outside the training area, or remain in your vehicles, under your own supervision.
Please bring lots of high value treats, a fine or flat collar and light lead, clicker, tug toys, any other (non-coercive) training aids you use that help with focus in what will be a distracting environment. Wear clothing that allows quick access to treats etc. eg. gilet/light coat with pockets. Short ‘times out’ are essential!
Dogs that require ‘space’ can be accommodated, but please advise on the booking form and email relevant details to Carolyn prior to the workshop. Space and entry/exit options are limited.
The morning session will comprise:
- An introduction to Level 1 and 2 static signs followed by discussion.
- The moving signs
- Some active work on achieving heel connection
- Linking
