CANINE CREDENTIALS OF ANN STEPHENSON (MIIA,DMA)
I am a retired Local Government Officer, my specialism was internal and fraud investigations and prosecutions.
I have owned Golden Retrievers nearly 35 years and been a breeder since 1985. I am a member of the KC ABS. I do not breed puppies very often but have managed to maintain a direct line from my foundation bitch to my current 8th generation and undertake all the required, numerous health screening tests to ensure the health of my dogs and generations.
I have been showing and judging Golden Retrievers for over 25 years and have judged over 800 dogs. I am A3 listed and have completed all the KC Judges Seminar series. I am also an experienced Steward. I am scheduled to award CCs in 2015.
I am a regular guest trainer at a local Ringcraft club.
I was Secretary of Camberley DCS for 10 years, running 2 general canine shows a year.
I have been Secretary of the Southern Golden Retriever Society for over 15 years (some of that simultaneously with CDCS). The Society has a membership of over 750 and hold various events, etc which gives me extensive experience for administering the LRA:
I am a member of numerous Golden and Gundog Societies.
I am also a Kennel Club Member.
As a result of my different roles, I am a frequently attendee at the Kennel Club.
I consider this background was an important factor is getting the LRA to be successfully approved by the Kennel Club without query or referral.
I feel that I bring a lot of knowledge and expertise to the position of Secretary, to be able to progress the LRA in the right direction for the good of the breed both in the UK and worldwide.
I also own 2 Lagotto bitches (Tosca and Truda). Both have been successfully shown to achieve Best Import Register Lagotto Romagnolo Puppy (Gundog) in 2012 and 2013, with the icing on the cake being awarded Best Puppy and Reserve Best Bitch at Crufts 2014. I have just breed my first Lagotto litter and support and undertake all available health testing.
