Puppy Power
Lidia will celebrate her first birthday on July 12. What a wonderful year it has been for her! At twelve weeks old she received her puppy certification through Project Canine (the only therapy dog organization allowing puppies) and we became an Animal Assisted Therapy team. We have made 90 visits to students in elementary schools, high schools, colleges and universities; to hospital patients, and to homeless veterans. She has received AKC STAR puppy, AKC Canine Good Citizenship recognition, and exceeded the AKC Therapy Dog requirement (only 50 visits). We are now registered with Therapy Dogs, Inc. and have recently become a Reading Education Assistance Dogs team. Lidia is a perfect example of puppy love! Written by: Dawn Meiklejohn |
